About the Founder of Whole Self Care:
Dana Schaub is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, yoga/fitness instructor, and Board Certified Mental Health Coach. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Mobile, and her Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Systems from the University of Southern Mississippi. As a lifelong dancer and lover of movement, her passion naturally transitioned into fitness. She became a 200hr Registered Yoga Instructor through Holy Yoga and also teaches various fitness classes in-person and online.
Dana is passionate about helping others truly care for themselves from the inside out, taking a holistic approach to nutrition/self-care. She uses an intuitive approach to nutrition, using both inner wisdom of how God made our bodies, and outer wisdom of how food affects our health. She helps her clients move away from restrictive diets; and work towards a peaceful, compassionate relationship with food, movement, and wellness.
Dana is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and a HAES (Health at Every Size) informed provider. (For more information on HAES, visit https://haescommunity.com/)

Dana has shown me the importance of setting smaller goals and looking at the bigger picture. It is more than just losing weight. I can move better, feel better, learn better eating habits. I have learned that weighing myself continually promotes discouragement and that isn’t a good thing. Dana has walked with me through a journey of stomach issues and helped me realize that a lack of stomach acid creates acid reflux, and by changing a few things I was taking, the reflux totally went away.
Through our work together, I feel confident in trusting my body and that it knows what it is doing and how to take care of me. I am able to enjoy food and can see its nutritional and soul-nourishing value rather than something to fear. I have continued to use intuitive eating every day to help guide me in the food choices that I feel are right for me. In addition to this I have also felt validated in any thoughts and fears that I have, making them much easier to accept and work through.
I learned to give myself grace. Not everyday will be perfect on your health journey but start everyday fresh and make better choices.
Working with Dana has really changed my life for the better. She helped me find happiness in the world around me rather than fixating on food and my weight.
Dana is compassionate, gentle, and patient. She is a great listener and supports a view of food that takes care of the whole individual. Dana offers a unique service to include a positive relationship with nutrition and movement.
