1 month agoby wholeselfcarerdDoes the idea of “self care” make you feel guilty? . I don’t mean “self care” as in pampering yourself, buying new shoes, getting your nails done, etc. as it is often attributed to. . I mean taking care of yourself and making sure your needs for sleep, rest, nourishment, and movement are met. . Sometimes I still struggle with feeling guilty when I take time to rest, prioritize sleep, say “no” to things that over crowd my schedule, take breaks, make space for my soul, stop to write, etc. . We can’t completely avoid the harsh things we come in contact with, but with intentional changes, we can minimize the work our bodies have to do

First of all, He has been calling me to make more space for quiet, for stillness, for stopping to listen to His voice. This also helps me observe my own thoughts and feelings in the light of His presence. This practice keeps me in tune to Him. It helps me maintain calm as a naturally anxious person. It helps me remember my limits as a recovering overachiever. . Second of all, He has been calling me again and
